	Specimen trees of Washingtonia robusta (Mexican fan palm; thinner trunks) and Washingtonia filifera (Californian fan palm; thicker trunks) in the Adelaide Botanical Gardens, South Australia. Palm trees have a very compact root system, allowing translocation of the trees if necessary.
